Charges against former Tupelo Police Sgt. Ronald Trice, have been dropped....

The action to dismiss was entered Tuesday morning..11/21/06.

I hope the media covers this story as diligently as they did when charges were filed!

This is great news! I'm glad the DA FINALLY woke up!



For those that don't remember Sgt. Trice was charged with Sexual Assault (correct me if I am wrong peasNcarrots). Sgt. Trice was relieved of duty. Although there was not a single shred of physical evidence, there was a strong push by elements within the TPD to send this to Grand Jury. The Grand Jury said it should go to trial. The case was continued a couple of times, and finally the D.A. dropped all charges.

Meanwhile Sgt. Trice was dragged through the muck. It was despicable that it even got as far as it had, and when the charges were brought forward it was investigated time and time again, and every time it was strictly a he said/she said deal. No physical evidence was ever presented, no witnesses, nothing. This should be a lesson for all officers within the TPD. And the procedures when someone alleges serious offenses against officers should be looked at.

These accusations destroyed this man's livelihood. Those that INSISTED that this go to trial should be ashamed because they let their "personal problems/BIAS" cloud their judgement as usual.

I hope this helps get the changes needed within the PD on the fast track.
