After seeing the cuss filter change "c-o-c-k-amamy" to "thingamamy" over in the NMMC thread, I just had to test out some other bad words. Just ignore me. I was an only child and had to find creative ways to amuse myself for many years.

Well, now, that was fun.
FYI, it appears that all sexual parts, whether male or female, default to "thingy." That cracks me up.

I wonder if we can write about our vice president, tiny boy thingy Cheney?
On a similiar note, we have a cuss-catcher on our television at home and it can get annoying. When an offensive word is spoken the sound is muted for one sentence and a subtitle appears with the "replacement word" in the sentence. What bugs me, though, is that the word "sex" is always replaced with "hugs". That male enhancement commercial always gets bleeped and a subtitle pops up with "Men, has your hugs life suffered..."
;D
But it is a small price to pay when you have small kids in the house. Plus, my wife and I have a deal that regardless what we are watching (even a PPV) we have to change the channel if they say GD. I watched the new Dukes of Hazzard movie and had to read subtitles pretty often.

your post made me think of something i've never understood. you'll here a song on the radio saying "GD",,, but the f-bomb gets bleeped. I have a theory (surprised?): "D*mn" is pretty much considered harmless and was one of the first curse words allowed on the public airwaves. "God", one the other hand, is not a curse word at all and is only considered offensive if uttered publicly in a positive context (i.e. God is good). One might be sued by the ACLU, for example, for speaking of God positively in public (depending on whether they are standing on property with any connection to public funding). Now, liberals pretty much have a monopoly on radio and tv airwaves and everyone knows how liberals feel about God. So it is perfectly acceptable to put those two words, "God" and "D*mn" together on the public airwaves. And make sure the kids hear it so that it can desensatize them to it. Heck, it might even undo some of the damage done to kids if their parents take them to church (an obvious violation of a child's right to freedom from religion as stated in the Constitution). Look it up.

The word filter is an interesting beast, believe it or not, use it for other things than just curse words, it also plays a part when using the extra smilieys...anyway...
I normally get upset when people try to get around the word filter, but this is all in fun here, and I'll give it a pass. I'll let you guys try the following for some fun feedback.
try these without the dashes between the letters:
a-s-s-h-o-l-e kiss my a-s-s v-a-g-i-n-a (you can also try the curse word of that as well) w-h-o-r-e s-l-u-t b-a-s-t-a-r-d
That should be enough. Remember, we do try and keep it PG-13 around here, so the word filter, although flaky, is unfortunately a necessity.

Who ever imagined that an internet filter could transform the name of one of our Founding Fathers into something fit for a pr0n star! John Hanthingy -- priceless!
And Thingy Cheney -- what's really funny about that is that I could actually picture George W. having a brain twitch, forgetting Cheney's first name, and coming up with "thingy" instead.
Heck, I could see ME having a brain twitch and coming up with that...*sigh*

It's hard to imagine a man named tiny boy thingy not opting for the alternative "Richard" instead.

Okay, now this is getting really funny! I thought I had mis-typed "p*o*r*n" above, but when I tried to go back and change it, it still came up as pr0n. This filter is getting a workout!

Wish I knew some more bad words to try. This isn't even a bad word. But try typing in r-a-c-o-o-n. I used it in my rooster update and had to use the words "night predator" instead of r-a-c-o-o-n cuz it just wasn't getting my point across.
