He is my review of Brokethingy Mountain: You can't review a movie if you haven't seen it.If you are gay, lesbian, or one of those people who do not believe in a greater being or creator (God) then go see this movie! You will enjoy seeing lives torn apart by a FORBIDDEN love between two gay men, pretending to be straigh, while lieing to thier wives & children & sheep. He's so excited, he's starting to use poor grammar and spelling, it's probably the sheep. If you are decent, God fearing, NOT Gay or Lesbian, believe that unmoral behavior should not be shoved down your face & that of your children & loved ones, then don't go see it. That sounds freaky, Grim, will all that talk about things getting shoved down your throat. What theater do you go to? Movie Reel is a better deal that I thought, unlike you, I would prefer to be the pitcher. Of course we went to see American Wedding together, it was chockfull of immoral behavior, there was even grannies getting molested. Last time I checked I did not want to see two guys poking each other. Nor do I want that kind of stuff playing at my local movie theater. because they are taking away valuable studio dollars from a Babylon 5 or Blake 7 movie I am not some right wing ultra conservative. Suuuure I just believe in the bible & that people can believe what they want to except for making gay cowboy movies & do what they want to in the privacy of there homes & that this kind of trash should not be thrusted upon people by hollywood & people like the foreign press, the people who voted on the Golden Globes. [ color=red]and people who keep making references to "thrusted", you crazy freak, maybe I should go to the movies with you more often, but I might feel dirty afterwards. Hey, you said you weren't an ultra-right wing conservative but your acting like a Baptist preacher at a convention?!? Of course maybe we should all lay down & let hollywood & the foreign press set our morals & teach our children the ""Correct way to live"". If you believe in that, then go see this movie & bring the kids! Protesting against a movie you haven't seen just makes even more attention for it. Brokeback Mountain is now the #5 movie in the country because of all the attention.Oh , one last thing, why are there 5-8 different previews of the movie. The one I saw on Bravo channel showed the two cowboys loving each other, but the trailer on Comedy Central & USA show a MAN & WOMAN hugging, with the tag line epic love story. Talk about some false advertising & misleading story!! How did you like the previews and trailers on LOGO and the other gay channel, Oxygen?
Dude, how can you write something like this if you've never seen the movie?
"If you are decent, God fearing, NOT Gay or Lesbian, believe that unmoral behavior should not be shoved down your face & that of your children & loved ones, then don't go see it. "
Simple as that. Don't go see it. I don't know you but from your post and the way you phrased things I don't think I'd like to. You sound like a christian fundamentalist that is intolerant of anyone different than themselves. Notice I didn't say /all/ christians are that way... just some. And they annoy the hell out of me.

Grim
I understand what you are saying...you are mad about how the movie was marketed. Most Hollywood movies are marketed in that matter; however, this particular film seems to burn your biscuits because of the subject matter.
By now, the general public knows that Hollywood LIES in most of it's marketing. Look at Fantastic 4....slick marketing for a medicore movie. How about the upcoming Pink Panther remake, the trailers are funny, but early reviews say it stinks on ice. Hostel was marketed as a date movie in one of it's trailers, but it is a very gruesome and terrifying film.
I think you are just now realizing how the Hollywood machine really works. How do you think such rediculous movies keep getting sequals? Because there are hundreds of thousands of people who look at the trailers and say...WOW LOOKS COOL/FUNNY/AMAZING/ETC. LET'S GO SEE IT! And then the movie stinks and then Hollywood get's to keep churning out sequals to these turds that they call "films".
They do several trailers and stingers to market to different demographics. They've been doing this since the early seventies and they will continue to refine this tactic.
I'm not a homophobe. I knew a couple of gay dudes in college. I did not like their lifestyle, but I did not go out of my way to avoid them. I have watched movies with overbearing Gay themes before, TV Shows too, and while The Hollywood Foriegn Press can shower this movie with all the accolades they want, I have no desire to see this. It may be an emotionally engaging film, but it does not float my boat. It might win every Oscar they give out, but I won't be purchasing a DVD either. Why? I could care less about gay cowboys, just like I could care less about that stupid Notebook movie, and for me, those two movies are cut from the same celluloid.

Like TFAdmin said, dude. Hollywood's been doing this for /years/ and /years/. It's nothing new. Every preview you see on TV or trailer you see before another film is cut to show the subject matter in the absolutely best light it can. My wife and I have just completely given up on going to the movies anymore. We go maybe once a year... either for one of our birthdays, our anniversary or V-day. And, in the last three years we've only seen one movie (well, I've seen two) that we really liked. Cheaper by the Dozen. The one I liked but she didn't was Punisher.
But, bottom line, Movies have all sucked for a long time and the production companies, being money grubbing butt nuggets, will make their movie look as good as possible even if it's the steamiest pile of crap in the yard. Deciet is how they make their money.

I'm not going to see it either, I won't buy it on DVD, but I am going to rent it to see what all the fuss is about. I like to tease Magnolia about her crush on "BubbleBoy" and "William Thatcher".
Speaking of bubbleboys, if people believed the trailers they saw on one particular channel, Borkeback Mountain would have sold all those tickets the first weekend and been swept under the rug the following weekends, like all box office flops.
We've been warned by all the Christian Mujahadeen not to see it, so therefore everybody wants to see it whether it's good or bad. It's like driving past a car wreck, you have a compulsion to look.
If one group is saying,"Don't see it!" The other people are going to be defiant, it's human nature. Let them decide for themselves if it's a bad movie or not, as long as there's nothing illegal happening in it don't worry about it.
People who use Cliff's Notes to do a book report are cheats and plagiarists. Oh yeah, it's spelled p-l-a-g-i-a-r-i-s-t. It means "someone who copies the printed words of another"
"(1)Okay, where do I begin, yeah I saw all the American Pie movies, they were really funny. "
Would you take your Sunday school class to them? They were full of depictions of drug use, underage drinking, pre-marital sex, sodomy, and strong language. And that was just the first one. There are movies that got an "X" rating for less. My point is, you can't have "American Pie" without Brokeback Mountain, they are equally immoral.
"(2)The Movie Reel is a good place to see a movie if its not playing at the Malco, TFAdmin agrees with me on that I know."
I agree, it's a great theater. Just don't d**n a theater for it's content. Will you stop shopping at Best Buy or Walmart when they start selling Brokeback Mountain?
"(3)??? What theater do you go to? Movie Reel is a better deal that I thought, unlike you, I would prefer to be the pitcher???"
You keep having things thrust in your face or down your throat at movie theaters. Is it the same theater that Pee Wee Herman uses? Do they allow minors in there? I would worry about the "butter" they use in the popcorn, I don't think it came out of a cow.
At least Mystery Science Theater 3000 made it to the theater. I know what you're really burning for, a Brother Cadfael movie. It could be called Brother Cadfael and the Mystery of the Worn-out concept. Really, Cadfael is just Sherlock Holmes in a dress, like Miss Marple.
"You know what we would do, get up & ask for our money back. At least thats what I would do, I can't say for sure what my wife would do."
I'm pretty sure she will be scarred for life after seeing BubbleBoy having his way with Sir William Thatcher.
"I have a choice to watch it or turn the channel, or not go see it. I don't have that choice if a movie is thurst at me as being a love story between a man & women, then find out at the theater hey its actually about two men loving each other throughout there lives, while being married to women & having families."
Are you trying to tell us that you believe every commercial you see on TV? If that were true, I would recommend staying away from the TV at night, you might have a cabinet full of Ronco junk, a DiTech mortgage, a gecko on your couch, and 3 out of 5 doctors would say that monkeys will fly out of your butt if you don't use Rogaine. No one is forcing you to go see Brokeback Mountain at all. You forgot to add that it's not REALLY about gay cowboys, they are sheepherders. Just one more lie to add to this web of deceit. You have a choice to not buy a ticket. Don't you go buy a ticket. (I think he's going to go to cinemark.com and buy a ticket)
Here's a movie blurb, guess what movie I'm talking about, pretend I'm using "The Voice": Destined to find their love for each other, two friends set out on a journey they were told they couldn't do. A journey full of passion, corruption, and deceit.
Is it: (a) Batman starring a queer Adam West (b) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy starring a flaming Ian McKellen and a totally gay Elijah Wood (c) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back with a thingy smoking Jason Mewes and chocolate packaging Kevin Smith (d) Brokeback Mountain starring a saintly BubbleBoy and a righteous Heath Ledger The answer: (e) All of the Above, it depends on how you word it I'm a genius and I'm out of here, I'm headed for Hollywood to write Movie tag lines.

Humm, well then Wittzo most of your posts on this message board are copys of information from "Other Websites" would that mean that you were "Copying the printed words of another?" Okay, you halfway have me on that, I try to post links to my sources or I can find them when I'm challenged on them. So it's not plagiary. P-l-a-g-i-a-r-y. And you still can't spell. Do they eat dog crap on Desperate Housewives or do they have sex with pies or musical instruments? Is the whole plot device based on a competition to have underage sex? "Shock factor" doesn't have legs at the box office, it just becomes a footnote in history. <<EDIT BY TFADMIN>> What you are implying by your "forcing it down your throat and making you watch it" means that the movie industry drones are grabbing people off the street and sitting them in front of the screen and making them watch movies they don't want to see. They are not, people are buying tickets out of their own free will. It's as big a waste of money to plunk it down on "Ernest Goes to Camp" as it is to plunk it down on "Serenity", one is a life changing event, the other sucks out brain cells. Pop Quiz: If you sing praises of one movie, it will make you a gibberish-spouting drool beast, the other will make you a reasonable human being. Guess which movie is Grim's favorite. I don't care if minors see "PG-13" or "R" rated movies. They paid to see it and their parents don't care or they would have kept a tighter rein on them. I'll let my kids watch "The Matrix" all day long with it's "R" rating. I don't like my kids watching the "PG" rated 1988 Batman with all it's bad language. It's harder to have the money for a ticket and get to a movie theater than it is to hit the "on" button on the remote and turn it to Cinemax After Dark. What theater did they play in? BBC/PBS productions aren't theatrical releases. Paramount is. Just because you can't buy them here, doesn't mean you can't buy them somewhere else. You are willing to travel to see a movie. That's just silly, I'm too busy fighting crime as The Wittzomaniack with you as my sidekick, Choda Boy. Your superpower is to practice sucking on cans of Easy Cheese when you're not too busy being my Boy Wonder.

This is hilarious! I'm still confused as to how this movie has gotten so much attention. Everyone is going to see it. I wonder if they're are forum groups out there creating specific threads for the movie.

This is some of the funniest banter we have had on here in a long time, I miss the good ol' days of hammerin Grim in the Forum Games. He was so easy to bait, and apparently nothing has changed.
Grim, you do realize that wittzo has baited you on this, and you fell for it hook, line ,and sinker.

Grim, you do realize that wittzo has baited you on this, and you fell for it hook, line ,and sinker. TFADMIN He's already called my house so Magnolia could explain some of the facts of life to him. It must be the disease he caught at The Movie Reel Bordello/Movie Theater rotting his brain...He ought to watch out for who "thrusts" things down his throat and in his face... <<EDITED BY TFADMIN>> I also wonder when he'll attack another movie for it's moral shortcomings. "This summer coming back to the theaters an erotic romp through the wild forest. Seven miners let a young victimized girl into their quiet home. There will be suspense, intrigue, and passion as they learn to live all over again as she changes their lives and teaches them about forbidden fruit. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Here's what BSIGrim has to say about it:"I'm not saying that I'm a far-right wing conservative...Sieg Heil! Amen!...I'm just saying that it ain't right to let a young teenage girl who looks like that stay with seven guys and she ain't married to at least two one of them. And they're just thrusting it down my throat! They are coming into my house and getting me out of my bed interrupting my sheep loveand sticking things in my face and it ain't right!

I'm not sure how to use all these quotation features yet, however, I would quote BSIGrimreaper. My comment made yesterday were purely facetious. You guys are the reason that this movie is getting so much attention. You cannot claim to not be a contributing factor to the current popularity of this movies discussion. If you constantly discuss this film, and why it shouldn't be talked about or seen, you are creating a total paradox. That's why this is absolutely hilarious. Someone will probably quote me on this and attempt to berate me, and I will retaliate. This thread will quite possibly last forever. I don't even care about the movie, but I might rent it in a few months.
