We are going to make this simple and easy to understand. All members agree to follow these rules for continued access to our community forum:
I PROBARDS TOS
All members agree to the Proboards Terms of Service. Click the following link to see the TOS. When you sign up to be a member...you automatically agree to the following:
www.proboards.com/Information-Terms_of_Service.html
II Valid Email Address
Make sure the Email address in your profile is valid. From time to time, you may be contacted about Forum News and the email address you provide in your profile will be used.
Note: Email addresses will NEVER be sold, or used for the purposes of spam, Internet Marketing, etc. They will be kept private. You may opt to hide your email address from other members within your profile.
III Censorship
Threats of violence will be removed or edited. No exception. Telling someone "I think anyone that acts like that should have his head examined." is completely differerent from "Keep acting that way and I will personally come over and do a lobotomy with a bonesaw!"
Profanity is not encouraged on these forums, its not illegal mind you, but according to Proboards TOS, it's not acceptable. Occasional slips to make a point are fine, but most of the really ugly words are already in the Censored Words Filter.
The Censored Words Filter will change most bad language into other, less harsh, words.
IV pr0nography
No links to pr0nographic material, no pr0nographic pictures may be posted or used in avatars. No overtly sexual posts. Keep it decent people.
V Member Complaints
If a member has a complaint about another member or particular post please send an Instant Message to the Moderator of that Forum. The moderator, in turn will see if the complaint has any validity and determine the next course of action (edit or delete post, warn offending member, get TF ADMIN involved.) Most complaints can be resolved by the moderator of that forum, but if TFADMIN gets involved, expect swift and decisive action.
VI Moderator Complaints
Moderator complaints should be sent to TFADMIN. I will determine the next course of action. If a moderator has been unfair please cite specific examples.
VII Custom Avatars And Images in Sigs
You can use your own custom avatar for your profile and images in signatures. Here are the rules about both:
VIII General Forum Behavior
Every voice has a say, and no one voice is more important. With this in mind, please refrain from personally attacking another member's view or opinion. Personal attacks will not be tolerated and are subject to any degree of punishment from moderators as well as the administrator.
We encourage debate, and many views may be expressed here that will not agree with yours, if you find yourself uncomfortable with the views by other members of the forum, it would be wise to just ignore posts made by those members or move to another thread instead of responding.
If you choose to respond, do so with respect. If you cannot respect, a moderator or TFADMIN will contact you.
Members and moderators should not actively target each other, with snide remarks, or posting subject matter that is designed to illicit or provoke arguments or flames without offering their own opinion (whether for or against) on the subject matter. You must state your case whether you agree or disagree with the author. Additional commentary is acceptable as long as you include your take or stance on the author's work.
Posting jokes found online in the Humor section is acceptable without commenting, but posting news articles or commentary from another source that clearly would enflame members on the forum without offering your own opinion will not be tolerated. These articles will be deleted by moderators or TFADMIN and a warning will be given.
IX Thread Hijacking
Anyone who hijacks or attempts to hijack a thread by getting it way off topic in order to enact a personal vendetta, start personal attacks, or flames is subject to a verbal warning, a public warning displayed in their profile, TIME OUT or banning. TFADMIN determines which of these is necessary and the duration.
Threads that go off topic should not STAY off topic. It's inevitable that discussions occasionaly get off track, but they should get back to the topic at hand within a few posts.
X Thread Cleaning and Deletion
Approximately every 90 days, we will clean out threads that have died...meaning a post has not been made to them in at least 90 days. This will help keep our boards nice and clean.
We are now Archiving some threads. They can be found near the bottom of our main page in "The Archives".
XI Member Account Deletion
Approximately every 120 days, I will go through member accounts and delete those that have had no activity for at least 120 days. For an account to count as active, you must log on under that name and make at least one post for the account to be listed as active. You may also opt to notify TFADMIN that you will not be using your account for 120 days and would like it retained.
XII Warnings
We have a warning system in place. If you are givena warning, It will be displayed under your name in every post you make. The warning message will vary by offense but will include a brief message on what the warning is for and an expiration date.
You may receive up to two concurrent warnings, there will not be a third issued, a member receiving a third warning will either be on TIME-OUT or banned.
XIII TIME OUT
Time out is a temporary suspension of your account via blocking your IP address. Time Out is used to allow members a cooling off period usually two or three days but less than seven in length. Although, the administrator reserves the right to change the length. Members will receive an Email when on Time Out.
XIV BANNING
Banning is the blocking of IP addresses to halt access to TupeloForums.com. Bans may be temporary (but longer than seven days) or permanent.
Members can be banned for either of the following reasons:
PLEASE NOTE: The administrator of this forum reserves the right to choose whether to ban or not to ban REGARDLESS of the reason. Failure of one of the two items listed above WILL result in a ban.
XV NEWS FEEDS AND FORUM OUTSIDE CONTENT
Some of our forums have a news feed or some type of outside content displayed for the benefit of our members. This content is not under the direct control of TUPELOFORUMS or TFADMIN.
The content providers have been carefully screened to match the Forum Rules and the Proboards TOS which guide all content displayed on this site. Some content may be objectionable to some members but may not violate our rules. Feel free to comment in the appropriate forum or sned a PM to TFADMIN.
Be advise using any of the outside content provided on any of our forums is AT YOUR OWN RISK, as you will be taken to another website to view said content. TUPELOFORUMS.COM and TFADMIN are not responsible for content on a providers website.
