Has anyone read these? If so, what are your thoughts on how close they are to the truth?

The only problem I had with the first book was that the world rapidly stabilized after half the people dissapeared during the rapture and nobody cared a week later, except the main characters. It was like nothing happened.
People still freak out about the people killed on 9-11 or the 150,000 killed by the Tsunami. That was nothing compared to the Rapture.
It was a neat book, but I don't know howor when it will happen or if I will be left behind myself or anything like that.

Haven't read the book but saw tha movie on DVD. And I'm wondering how close to the book was the movie. Anyone read and watched them ( 1 and 2 ).

they are close, just that the book has a whole, whole lot more details. I enjoyed the books so much more. It was one of those I started and couldn't put down until I had read it all. They now have the "military" left behind series out and I really love those. They have the political ones too, but I haven't started that series yet.

read the series, saw the movie. book SO much better. the first few were my favorites. the last my least favorite. the kids series is great too, but i wouldn't recommend it for all kids (teens) and certainly not pre-teen.
it was a good read. accuracy, dont know. i looked at it as a good read. we can't know the future no matter how hard we try. turned me on to reading more of jenkins work. i like some of his other stuff better.

I've only read the 1st book of the series. It was pretty good. Haven't seen the movie & haven't read any more of the books.
