Do you feel that there is a war on Christmas? Have you ever really thought about people being offended because of a Christmas tree instead of "holiday" trees? What are your thoughts on these things?

I posted on another board my thoughts on the holiday trees. I was not planning on putting up a tree this year considering where we were living and the events after the hurricane, but my little granddaughter wanted me to have a tree. I thought that would be something cool that me and her could do to get me "in the spirit." Boy was I wrong! I first went to Wal-Mart. They had a big sign that said "HOLIDAY TREES!" That disturbed me and I refused to give my money. I left there and checked in the mall. Sears, the same thing "Holiday Trees." My spirit was dampening, but I didn't give up. I told her we would find us the perfect Christmas tree. I went to Lowe's, and OH MY were they ever proud of their Holiday Trees! By this time I was disgusted and felt a really sick feeling inside. As I drove on through Tupelo I saw a sign at Crosstown at Walgreens advertising Holiday Trees. I just gave up. I was so soul hurt that Christmas was being taken away from us, and by who? I will tell you who, non-Christians that's who. If they do not want to participate in Christmas, they don't have too, but leave us alone! I wander if we don't share some of the blame because Christians never stand up and yell when things are removed from us. I hate the idea of having Christmas trees replaced with Holiday trees. I will always say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays, and I will never take Christ out of Christmas and replace him with an X!

Bill O'reilly has been talking about this issue for a couple of months. And this is one time, "he got it right." The War on Terror has become "The War on Christmas". It's redciulously stupid. It's a federal holiday clearly stated as "CHRISTMAS". Yet, the left-wing, politically correct tree huggers are hiding behind "we must be sensistive to all faiths". So let's just re-write history. Let's just forget the principles and "FAITH" this country was founded upon.
Do not buy from stores that do NOT recognize "Christmas". Here's a list from billoreilly.com:
Christmas shopping information Below find a list of the major department stores across the country and where they stand on using Christmas in their holiday advertising and other promotions.
JCPenney "Christmas" mentioned in print ads & other advertising
Federated Department Stores (Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor, Filene's, Marshall Fields) "Christmas" mentioned in print ads & other advertising Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate
Dillard's "Christmas" mentioned in print ads & other advertising
FAO Schwarz Using "Holiday" this year in advertising materials Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate
Toys 'R' Us Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate (no official policy)
KB Toys Using "Happy Holidays" this year in advertising materials Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate (no official policy)
Costco No advertising, but company leans towards "Happy Holidays" for in-store promos
BJ's Wholesale Club Using "holiday season" this year in advertising materials Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate
Wal-Mart Using "Happy Holidays" this year in advertising materials Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate
Sears & Kmart Kmart will not use "Christmas" in its advertising Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate
Kohl's Kohl's does not disclose its advertising strategies Employees are free to use any holiday greeting that they feel is appropriate
Target Did not return phone calls
I don't see a problem with recognizing all the different ways people celebrate the holidays, including CHRISTMAS.

Target is getting hit real hard according to afa.net. Target has "banned" Christmas in their advertising. They are not using the word this year.

I have no problem with people saying Happy Holidays. I take it they are wishing good wishes to all religions and do not want to leave anyone out. But that being said I want a CHRISTMAS TREE not a Holiday tree.

Thank you mom! The holiday tree is a bit much. If non-christmas believers or celebraters don't want a christmas tree, why should they care what we call it?
