No matter what religion you ascribe to please consider a few moments of silence or prayer and remember this gentle soul. He brought so many people together and it would appear that even as his imminent death approaches, he is bringing millions together again.
I'm not Catholic, but I recognize the legacy this man leaves to us as he heads towards paradise. This man was so heavily involved in many of the things that helped shape our world today (The fall of Communism, The Middle East Peace, etc.) and even survived one attempt on his life, and now he is finally going to be with his Father.
Like most people, I never met him, but his works and deeds blessed those that didn't know him, meet him, or even like him. We are losing a kind, gentle soul, but he is gaining his final home, where his health will never be in question again!

Pope John Paul is already in my prayers. Pope John Paul not only survived an assassination attempt but he forgave the assassin.

From the Scotsman News:
More than four million people have already visited the Vatican and its surroundings, said Rome police chief Marcello Fulvi.
Fulvi has put his force of full alert against possible terrorist attacks, the army has installed anti aircraft missile batteries around Rome and Nato is sending an AWAC surveillance plane to overfly the city tomorrow.
Traffic will be banned from Rome streets until tomorrow afternoon...
...The funeral Mass begins in St Peter’s Square at 0900 BST and will be celebrated by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, deacon of the College of Cardinals, and joined by the cardinals and patriarchs of the Eastern Rite Churches, all dressed in red vestments.
When the 2 1/2 hour mass ends the the prelates will leave the altar in procession, bearing the coffin from the basilica down the steps of St Peter to the Vatican crypts.
There the coffin will be definitively closed with red bands, sealed with both papal and Vatican seals. The coffin will be placed in a second casket of zinc, and within a third of walnut. The outside casket will bears the name of the pope, his cross and his papal coat of arms.
The service in the crypt is not open to the faithful, but is witnessed by top Vatican prelates.
The time for the funeral to start here in cst is 2:00 AM.

Millions watch as the Pope was laid to rest today. I got up and saw the funeral all the way through, I have been to many Catholic Funerals and this was one of the niestest one I've seen. Thousands Cheered and Clapped which is unheard of in a Catholic Funeral, But this Pope was loved by all Catholic and Non Catholic. he was a Great Pope but the American Catholic are womdering if the New Pope is going to address the issues if the church that being priest getting Married Women Priest. We will see what the New Popes going to do. He will have a Big Pair of shoes to fill.
