GRAZ, Austria (AP) - A 63-year-old retiree was convicted Thursday of repeatedly vandalizing the family grave of a financial adviser he said gave him bad advice, a news agency reported.
The man was fined $2,000 US and ordered to pay cleaning costs of $6,000, the Austria Press Agency reported.
The man, identified only as Heinz P. in line with Austrian privacy laws, had entrusted the financial adviser with investing his severance pay, equivalent to $83,600 US.
The money was soon gone, infuriating the man who then began spray-painting the adviser's family grave.
The man admitted to having vandalized the grave six or seven times, but a representative of the adviser's family told the court the grave had had to be cleaned between 50 and 60 times.
