I had a lunch meeting today at Taylor's Restaurant in New Albany. Don't ask for directions, as I have no idea how we got there, but I think this place is well known in the community.
Their food is excellent! It was buffet style, alll you can consume! I had Catfish filets, Fried Green maters, hush puppies, and green beans (Grim's favorite).
They had all kinds of food there, and everyone enjoyed it, the owner even got a standing ovation from about 50 law enforcement officials when he came through the room. Someone picked up our tab...I do not know whom, but I bet they paid a pretty penny for the spread that was laid out for us!
I don't know how the restaurant normally feeds folks, but if it's anything like what we had today, I would say, it was some fine southern style eatin!

Sorry it took so long for me to post this follow up: My wife and I decided we would go and try their seafood buffet Friday Night. We arrive about 8:00 PM, and were seated promptly. The food certainly LOOKED appetizing as we passed by on the way to our seats. They even had steak on the bar! WOW! They were busy. The place was packed and since we came at the tail of the rush we had no problem getting out food. As I stood in line, I noticed that most of the fried food looked "the same" meaning same breading and consistency. I had my doubts now. The food was less than satisfying. My steakfor example was mostly gristle and unedible, and VERY RAW! YUCK! The fried oysters, crawfish tails, fired shrimp, and scallops tasted EXACTLY ALIKE! They brough us some hush pupppies, they serve two kinds, regular and hot. It didn't matter which kind you ate, they were both equally aweful! This was a stark contrast to the food I ate the other day at lunch. I even tried the catfish filets. Dreadful! It cost almost $39.00 for my wife and I to eat there with our drinks. We decided we won't be going back...at least not for their evening buffet. Seafood Junction in Algoma and even Dixie Creek in Tupelo beat this place by MILES as far as a seafood buffet goes. I would have to say you would be far better off going to either one of those over Taylor's. Oh, and Seafood Junction is a full 5 dollars cheaper for two people. One other thing, I didn't eat alot, in fact I ate very little and so did my wife because we both felt like throwing up after a few minutes. My appetite vansihed about halfway through my meal, and was replaced by a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. At least the service was pretty good. TFADMIN

TF, from the way you described the food; I'm glad I didn't go. A fish dinner over at my parent's house was much better. Plus, some great desserts, "Strawberry Cake & Caramel Cake."

The buffet we had was good over there but it was at lunch. And it didn't cost as much either.
