Location: Algoma Date/Time: 8/5/2006 7:30PM Rating: 4- Great Recommend?: YES Review: I've been going to Seafood Junction for over 10 years. Yes, most of the food is fried. But it is so dang good. The fried oysters are some of the best I have ever had. My wife really likes the fried pickles, and mushrooms. If you want to go all out add the steamed crab legs to your buffet! Very, very good.
Dixie Creek is still closed, but Seafood Junction still rolls on. Final Word: I highly recommend to take a Saturday Night visit to Algoma or Oxford and hit up the buffet, you'll be glad you did.

My daughter, sister and nephew has worked at the Seafood Junction in Algoma. And I can add that it keeps a clean kitchen. While a lot of peole don't give a fig about that it ranks high with me. Your food is not dropped and picked up using the 10 second rule. If it is dropped it is tossed!

I like Seafood Junction too. They have the best service around, super-polite servers and cashiers, and the food is great.
TF Admin is right about the buffet being mostly fried, but the menu has a lot of other alternatives. Their steaks are out of this world, big, and cooked just the way you ask. They've got extremely tasty grilled chicken with some kind of marinade that makes my mouth water. Their boiled shrimp (hot-boiled or cold-boiled, your choice) is the best I've ever eaten, and you can get a full pound for less than ten bucks.
And the crab legs...oh, sweet heaven! they are FINE. Oh, here's a tip: if somebody else at your table gets the buffet or a large steak, you can get a pound of crab legs for $6. (no salad or potato unless you order them separately)
On the cleanliness issue, PontotocMom is right. A friend of my sister's used to work there, and she said that the owner's motto is, "If you have time to lean, you have time to clean." And he meant it! She said that they spent every free minute cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, and cleaning some more. She said her kitchen at home doesn't hold a candle to the Seafood Junction kitchen.
