Well, there's more to it than that, warriorswan. It is alleged, by many people I might add, that he tried to coverup a hit and run by helping the suspect at the Jail, attempting to change the report of the accident, and contacting the victim's family on numerous occasions. Again, no proof yet of any of this, it is all heresay, by a LOT of people very close to the incident. ASE

Well G2Y, first off we can only release so much info. We do not want to put this Case in Danger... Now alot of what youv'e said sounds like Cop's Covering something UP..... Hall did NOT contact the Family, They called him............ Has far as "Changing the Report" we will see, this will NOT get Covered UP by the "Powers that Be". We have ALL heard Rumor's concerning this MESS, let's just hope the Truth come's out soon. And one more thing, according to my Friend's the only part of the statement that was changed, was infact were the Cop's tried to Brutally force a "Breathalyzer" on the suspect (Victom)................... FYI- the Family is talking to someone today about Charges being brought agaist the Officer's involved, Every one of them...................

don't you think if officers had been brutal, this situation would have resulted in other officers being placed on leave? and investigated? but that did not happen, did it?

Many have been saying therren is more to the Hall story and I am in total agreement. All Seeing Eye has been saying this is purely political, vindictive BS and every day we see this become a more relevant argument.
Fellow officer supports Hall 10/13/2006 8:26:42 AM Daily Journal
BY EMILY LE COZ Daily Journal TUPELO – In a surprise move Thursday night, Tupelo Police Capt. Cliff Hardy used a city-sponsored race relations forum to publicly denounce the investigation of former Deputy Chief Robert Hall. Hardy said he supports Hall and said the black law-enforcement official was being persecuted for his efforts to create equality within the police department. Hall was demoted and is under investigation after state and local investigations concluded he allowed a member of his church to go free after the man allegedly hit a child riding a bike. “He has had to stand silently by as the system that he has served so faithfully grinds inexorably forward towards his ruin, reminiscent of times past when anyone of color challenged authority and went too far,” said Hardy, who is white. Hardy said he could not remain silent if he wanted to “look my children in the eyes.” The crowd inside the BancorpSouth Center erupted in applause. Hall was also at the forum and said he was “surprised but appreciative” of Hardy’s comments. Acting NAACP president Rev. Robert Jamison, also present, said he is convinced after hearing the speech that there is more to the investigation than what the media is reporting. Hall’s attorney, Jim Waide, released a letter to the Daily Journal saying Hall would likely be indicted and that if so, it is “primarily the result of vindictiveness by a group of white police officers who want Robert out of the department ... .” Tupelo Police Chief Harold Chaffin did not return calls seeking comment.
