Why isn't the Pentagon producing "propaganda" films or commercials like they did in previous wars? It seems they have decided to leave it to the media to present the war effort to the world and I, for one, think that is a terrible mistake.
Thanks to the media your average American doesn't have a clue how much good our men and women are doing over there. All we hear is the bad. If a single soldier is suspected of brutality or some other "crime" it is the story of the week. But let our military restore running water to a portion of Bagdad that didn't even have it when Saddam was in power and mum's the word.
Doesn't our government have a responsibilty to put out the truth about all the good our volunteers are doing? I would love to see the airways flooded with commercials showing the good for a change.

PBS, in its typical fair and balanced approach, had a discussion today on how the war in Iraq is going (Newshour). They had two democrat senators (Joe Biden & Jack Read) telling us why we can not win the war and why the Iraqi government cannot succeed. I suppose it never occurred to PBS to include an opposing point of view. And we pay for this stuff with our tax money.
