Yesterday's dramatic bust of 24 terrorists attempting to blow up trans-atlantic flights to the US is proof positive that Bush's electronic surveilance program saves lives.
The dots of this terror plot didn't get connected until US officials shared the chatter they were hearing with the Brits. Neither the US nor the Brits realized what they were dealing with until they shared intelligence. According to multiple sources, one being congressman Peter King (who received a classified briefing a few hours prior to the raid), this plot would not have been foiled if the democrats had gotten their way and stopped Bush from eavesdropping on trans-Atlantic phone calls involving suspected terrorists.
So what is the democrat response?
Harry Reid issued a statement yesterday that this was just more proof that our involvement in Iraq has diverted focus and $300 billion away from the war on terror. In other words, Reid - the top senate democrat and an avid Bush hater - claims this success was actually a failure caused by the Iraq war. So if foiling a massive plot to murder thousands of air travelers is a failure in his eyes I wonder what success would have been? And I wonder which side he is rooting for.
Is the democratic party willing to trade a few thousand innocents for the influx of votes the party would have received this November had the terrorists succeeded? It certainly seems so to me.

Comedian (a matter of opinion, I guess) Sandra Bernhardt told New York Daily News that she will fight the tightened airport security today when she attempts to board her scheduled filght by attempting to carry on banned items.
"When I go to the airport and they try to take my MAC Plushglass away from me, it's going to be World War III!," she said.
Don't you just get tired of these Hollywood nuts thinking they are above the rest of us?

I feel like I'm talking to myself here, but as I'm listening to the radio I'm hearing countless reports of airport security cracking down on little old women, pregnant women, and everyone else who is not a young muslim male trying to get onto our airplanes. Of course everyone should be screened but will we never learn that profiling IS NECESSARY? The threat we face comes from muslim males and that is where our focus should be. Political correctness be damned.
