I need some suggestions for new Board Rankings. Look under your name and you should see your rank (ex. "TF_SENIOR_MEMBER", "TF_PART_TIMER") and some stars. If you're a mod, you will see "TF_MOD" or something like that.
I want to implement 15 ranks using some kind of theme. Here are the post counts, but I need some members to come up with some names.
0 - 19 posts = LOWEST RANK
20 - 49 posts = RANK
50 - 99 posts = RANK
100 - 149 posts = RANK
150 - 249 posts = RANK
250 - 399 posts = RANK
400 - 599 posts = RANK
600 - 799 posts = RANK
800 - 999 posts = RANK
1000 - 1499 posts = RANK
1500 - 1999 posts = RANK
2000 - 2999 posts = RANK
3000 - 3999 posts = RANK
4000 - 4999 posts = RANK
5000 - BEYOND posts = HIGHEST RANK
So let's here some suggestions.

Why not put a person into a permanite(SP) hall of fame if they have over 2000 posts.

what like maybe military ranks or names off of lord of the rings for ranks or cartoon names for ranks like goofy or doc or shrek--the lowest rank could be apprentice--mage--archmage --grand wizard( no wait that's the clan)--emperor/ empress-knight- baron/baroness-count/countess-bishop-archbishop-guildmaster-magistrate-serfs-hearld --not necessarily in that order but anyway you get my general idea--oh yeah and peasant and the all knowing OZ ---  anyway I got a little carried away. |

So how do the rankings work? And am I imagining things or do the attributes Reputation and Karma interchange? Sometimes I see one under a user and then change threads and see the other.

The original system in place is called Karma, I have added some code to change it to "Reputation", but there is apparently a bug in that code. Right now, I have waaaaay too many other things to do before I get back to code fixes. The ranks work based on the number of posts you have made. Right now, our ranks look like the following:  I am looking to change them using some kind of theme or whatever. I may change the post counts as well, but the ones in the above pic are actually setup pretty good. Looking at the above picture, you see that early on, your rank changes quickly, and as you move up in rank it changes more slowly. Anyway, I'm leaving it up to you guys to come up with some ideas on what you would like to see. TFADMIN |
