The latest trend in Hollywood fashion accessories these days, thanks to Jole/Pitt and Madonna, seems to be African children. Madonna has been making headlines lately trying to adopt an African child without following the adoption laws in the child's home country.
The child in question reportedly lived in a delapodated orphanage until the pop icon decided to adopt him and bring him to the US. Critics say the Hollywood trend relegates such children to being "pets" for the rich and famous. They also tried to stop her from removing the child from his home country (their law requires the adoptive parents to live with the child in Africa for two years).
This child, the way I see it, will live a life of luxury with Madonna. If left in Africa he would likely die of AIDS by the time he is 25.
I wonder who is really looking out for the kids???
