I was reading Johnny Cash's second autobiography the other day and he related something he said he had heard somewhere that I thought was pretty profound. It was:

A drunk starts by drinking from the bottle and ends up with the bottle drinking from him.

That one line says so much and it got me to thinking about axioms in general and how neat it would be if we all shared them. Got any?

My favorite and probably most well known is:

Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.

My second favorite is:

History is a pendulum of overreaction and regret.

Anyone know who coined the second?

Rat, I know now who to fix it so you can see it: At the top of the page by login..click User CP, then Modify Profile, then select skin and chose Nitrix, then at the bottom modify profile again and you should be good to go. Let me know if that doesn't work and we will go to step 2.
