For those that might be on Medicare, and have a prescription drug insurance policy, you've probably received info that some things are changing in 2007, deductibles are going up, but in many cases, some companies have reduced premiums, co-pays, increased formularies, and some other changes to their policies. I'd like to offer a suggestion.
I'd recommend going to Medicare.gov website and plugging in your meds and let it review your situation against all the plans offered in Mississippi. You might find like I have, that a different policy or company will save me money in 2007 over what I had in 2006, and I plan to change policies. Changes can be made from Nov. 15th to Dec. 31st.

Bigboy, I don't understand the first medicare prescription plan. What are the cost of the premiums, co-pay, and benefits? Rutrow, it depends entirely on what meds someone takes and whether they are generic or name brand. If you talk to an agent, they will recommend ONLY the best plan they sell from the insurance company they represent, but if you use the Medicare.gov website calculator it will compare your drugs to ALL the plans being offered in the State and rank them from lowest cost to highest cost. My premium is going to be $27.40 per month when I change. My present policy in 2006 is $31.53 per month.
