Greeting/Introduction.

Wow...where to start?

My name is April. I was born in Tupelo June 11, 1977. I grew up in the Mooreville area and graduated high school there in 1995. I grew up Church of Christ and now my beliefs are a little more broad. (we'll leave it at that for now. hehe) I've been married to my husband Daniel for 10 years. (no kids) I'm currently studying Psychology thru an online college. (tho my main interest is forensic psychology). We just bought a house back in March and still getting situated. I work for Passion Parties and I'm loving that job!

I am a musician and writer at heart. I am a background singer for Dr. Daniel & The Rockabilly Vampires (husband's band) and I do several other projects by myself and with other people, including "The Mangled Fairy" which is gothy synth stuff that I write, record, play, and sing on. I play bass, keyboards, a little drums, and program synth. When I write, it's usually short stories or poems of a horror/sci-fi/fantasy theme.

The type of music I like is pretty much anything except modern country or modern rap. The things I listen to most are punk, goth, metal, new wave, and rockabilly. My favorite bands of all time include Violent Femmes, The Misfits, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, The Ramones, The Clash, and sooo many more that I can't possibly list them all.

Favorite Movies include; Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder!), Cemetary Man, Cannibal the Musical, Ghostbusters, Star Wars (all), Lord of the Rings trilogy, and almost anything by the following filmmakers- Tim Burton, John Waters, Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch, John Hughes, William Castle, The Coen Bros., Sam Raimi, M. Night Shyamalan, Alfred HitchBIG BOY thingy, and Kevin Smith.

When I watch tv, I tune in to (very few reality shows!) mostly reruns of old shows like Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, The Munsters, Addams Family, etc. Late at night, I'm watching Adult Swim on the cartoon network. I get mesmerized when I tune in to any true crime type shows; Forensic Files, Cold Case Files, Psychic Detectives, etc. There's more but those are the core shows that I watch on any regular basis.

When I'm reading, it's usually something like Stephen King, Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman, Dragonlance Chronicles, or other random horror/sci-fi/fantasy that I pick up from a yard sale.

Let's see...now for whatever random things I can throw in...I own 5 cats, 1 dog, and a ferret. I'm very interested in the paranormal and was at one point in "S.P.I.R.E." the leading Northeast MS paranormal investigations group. I have a niece who just turned 6 mos named Nancy and she lights up the room with her smile. Her mom/my sister is the closest family member to me, so they both mean a lot. 1995-1996 I attended University of North Alabama for a Journalism major but after two semesters I decided it wasn't for me and have spent the time since them pondering what I wanted to do. Oddly enough it was my interest in serial killers which pointed me into psychology....

Ok I think that's enough to get started. It turned out to be a lot more than I originally intended!!!!!!!! Feel free to ask me questions about anything I've listed or anything that I haven't if you are curious about it...

Paranormal, huh? Here's may closest call with that stuff:

Eight years ago, when my daughter was three she woke up in the middle of the night (in my room) screaming. She had a dream that a little girl was trying to pull her off the bed. A nightmare. Many times after that she would be in my room at night and would tell me the little girl was standing in the bathroom (the bathroom door was visible from the bed). She insisted that I shut the door. When she started sleeping in her own room she never mentioned the girl again. I didn't think much about it - just a dream.

Fast forward to 2003: I am remarried and my son is two years old. I have a dream one night. The only thing to the dream is that I'm lying in bed asleep and out of the blue a red-haired girl jumps straddle my chest and starts scratching wildly at my face. She's about 6 or 7 years old. Her red hair was so vivid and she looked wild. I woke up fighting and sat up in bed - it was so real. I had a hard time going back to sleep. But I've had nightmares before so I laughed about it the next morning when I told my wife about it.


Fast forward two weeks: My son is lying in bed with me one night while I am reading him a bedtime story. While I read he's poking at the book and trying to tickle me and make me laugh. Suddenly his eyes get big and he ducks down beside me and covers his eyes - quiet as a mouse. I ask him what he is doing and he won't answer. He's scared to death. I keep asking what's wrong and he finally whispers, "Shut that door, daddy." He points at the bathroom door without looking in that direction. So I ask him why and he says, "That girl is scaring me." I ask what girl and he says, "THAT girl, daddy." So I ask him what the girl is wearing and he says shorts and a shirt. So I say, "Oh, you mean that girl with the blonde hair?" And he says, "No, daddy, her hair is red."

Every hair on my body stood up.

Fast forward a few more months: My grandson, who is almost two is spending the night when he tells my wife there is a girl in the bathroom.

I know this all sounds crazy but it made me start to wonder if maybe there wasn't a graveyard under the house or something. But I ain't about to start digging.

Excuse my testosterone laiden ignorance, but just, what exactly are Passion Parties?

Is that the parties where they sell...uhum...ahhhh..."toys", novelties, skimpy, little naughty clothes, and the like?


NEVERMIND...I just did a search. I knew Oprah had to be involved somewhere!

lol....they are generally called "Fun Parties" and boy I have been to some that are fuuuunnn. We had a 75 year old lady at the last one I went too and my gosh, she made me blush and that is hard to do. I thought I had heard it all, but nooooo I learned some stuff that night. We had a blast.

I have also been to a party that the only people there were ladies I went to church with. We still had a blast, even the preacher's wife let her hair down.

I have been to a couples party. That was a disaster. I won' t never do that again. Men just can't take the heat. They talk a big game, but when it comes right down to it, they are all the same, they can't hang. LOL

I think everyone should go to one at least once. I have been trying to get my mother to go. She claims she is too modest and would never feel comfortable, but I think she will once she gets there. It's not all nasty stuff. They have some interesting stuff and it's not all "toys". Some of their things are multi-use...like toothache gel for kids, headache massagers, bath oils, sweet smelling lotions and gels. Like everything in life, a good hostess can make it a very good experience, but one bad one can ruin it for all. It's not all about se*x.

I just got started a few months ago. I'm a newbie, but so far it's a fun job. I get to know what everyone has in their naughty drawer. =P

Kingrat; your story scared me and that's a difficult task there! I've been to more supposed haunted houses, graveyards, etc. than you can shake a stick at.

Passion Parties is actually not new, it has always been the name for Fun Parties. It's the company name that makes the product. Us women just prefer Fun Parties and it has always stuck I think. But as far as I know Passion parties is the official name and always has been.

You are correct. It has never been "fun" parties. That's just a nickname people give it and an apt one at that!

Right after the red-head ordeal happened my mom told me it could be something attached to an object in the house. So she started asking questions. She zeroed in on my Stephen King books and suggested I get rid of any of them that I've had since before the first "sighting". I was scared enough that I immediately burned my Stephen King books. You would have to understand how much I love my book collection to realize how hard that was for me to do. But, whether or not that had anything to do with it, there hasn't been a "sighting" since.

i walked in on one... i was about 17 yrs old and my step-sister was hosting one.

i wanted to stay... she "over-politely" asked me to leave.

i thought it looked like a lot of fun.
