As I was making a post in another thread about the outrage directed at the pope by the murderous sicko Islami-fascists who want to kill all non-Muslims, a thought occurred to me in stages. Here are those stages.
Stage 1: We should have a national "Politically Incorrect" day where people say what that believe and not worry about offending some kook fringe group.
Stage 2: <realizing #1 will never happen> We should have a "Politically Incorrect" day right here on this forum.
Stage 3: <realizing that most people here don't post every day> Maybe we could have a "Politically Incorrect" topic on this forum where political correctness is not only discouraged, it is outlawed. Now I'm not talking about racism or nasty name calling - I'm talking about honest discussion of issues without the constraints radical liberals place on conversation in order to stifle opposing viewpoints.

Words like "politically incorrect" should not have made its way into the vocabulary of our American republic, but it has. Was this this born during the Clinton era and extending into present day?
We, as a nation are in a world of hurt when one group sets out to stifle another group with a dissenting opinion into shutting up.

Yesterday the House voted along party lines to require voters to present a photo ID by 2008 and proof of citizenship by 2010. The democrats overwhelmingly opposed the bill and called it racist, a "poll tax" and said it disenfranchises black voters.
Now let's cut through the politically correctness here and talk honestly about this. The only reason the democrats oppose the bill is because it would hamper the timeless tradition of dead democrats casting ballots long after they leave this earth. Also it would prevent illegals from voting.
But isn't it also racist for the democrats to say that requiring a photo ID will keep blacks from voting? They have, in the past, said that blacks would be "afraid" to vote if they had to show an ID. Afraid of what? I have also heard the argument that many blacks have outstanding warrants against them and would be afraid to vote for fear of being arrested at the polling place.
So who is the real racist here? In effect, the democrats are saying that blacks are little more than criminals hiding out from the law or still cringing in a corner somewhere in fear of Jim Crow.
Republicans, on the other hand, offer a bill that treats all races the same and doesn't assume that blacks are somehow less capable of being upstanding citizens as any other race.
Again I ask: Who is the real racist here?

I agree. You should have to show photoID to vote... and prove citizenship. It's a horrid idea that someone who isn't even here legally could help decide who our president... or any goverment official is. It's not racist to require such. Hell no. People forget that illegals aren't just mexican sometimes, I think.
And why the hell would having to show ID make blacks not want to vote? That's rediculous. Just show your ID, prove who you are and vote. It's not like they'll have cops sitting there with warrent lists waiting to take people to jail. Christ. Some people are retarded.

I totally agree, Crimson, but so many people who vote to keep the democrat party in power don't realize what they are supporting. The DNC has successfully hoodwinked so many people into believing that they are the protector of the little guy and the republican party is the evil protector of large corporations.

Some people are retarded. first, i so no problem and fully support photo IDs for voters. second, even IF cops are standing there with warrants (and they wouldn't be),,, i wouldn't mind that at all either. seriously, if someone is hiding from the law... i feel no sorrow for them if they don't get to vote.

Were any of you outraged that Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez came into our country and called our president "the devil" and said he could "still smell the sulfer"? Were you outraged when he drew applause from other heads of state in attendance at the UN?
Outside the UN building, while Chavez was making fun of our President, hundreds of Americans gathered to show their support for the dictator. Among the crowd were actor Danny Glover, City Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn) and celebrity Princeton Prof. Cornel West. They waved Venezuelan flags and cheered as he made fun of Bush.
Has our country sunk this far? Think about that next time you watch a movie staring Danny Glover.

Speaking of politically incorrect, Drudge has a picture of a braless Barbara Streisand on his site. And at lunchtime too!

What bothers me... Why have we, as Americans, embraced differences of all kinds... the more diversity the better? It seems like we are forced, through the media and such, to be accepting of everything... You only speak Spanish...GREAT! Forget learning English; let me learn Spanish too! You do not want to show ID when you vote, but I have to...FANTASTIC! I would hate to hurt your feelings because you are a criminal. I do not desire to be politically correct. I want to call a pot a pot (if it is a pot...I would not dream of calling a non-pot a pot). Oh yeah...if the idea of political correctness means accepting everyone's different views, should not non-political correctness be accepted also? Different, for me, does not equal better.

You've hit on the nut of it, Frey: Political correctness violates its own guidelines by NOT accepting non-political correctness.
This weekend I saw a report on FNC where a grade school was having a "Diversity Day" where students would discuss and be presented with information on homosexuality, religions, and cultures. Only two groups were banned from presenting information - Christians and former homosexuals. Even the topics were banned from the discussion.
