I can't believe no one is talking about this here. N. Korea says they will nuke the US if we don't talk to them face to face. What say you about this crazed dictator?

It is a terrible situation. North Korea, which is a communist country (without too much of an idea of what it is to actually be communist... everyone equal and all), has a military with a little over a million members. It also has people in the countryside dying left and right from starvation. Kim Jong Il is willing to have this grand military, but he is also willing to allow his people to starve. Seems like he has his priorities in the wrong place (he wants to be the big dog...). If any meetings happen, they need to be over the welfare of his people, and NOT whether or not he is willing to go to war over nuclear weapons.

He is a tyrant of the first order. Back when we were sending aid, he was telling the people that he was King of the World and all these other countries were paying tribute to him.
A little background info I heard on a news report a couple of years ago was that neighboring countries were dropping transitior radios inside N. Korea, because all radios sold there only pick up the national propaganda stations. So lots of N. Koreans have no real information of the outside world. They really don't understand how bad they have it, because they are told other countries are worse off for not having their god-like leader.
I think he's literally crazy. Russia had a tsar that acted like this hundreds of years ago. It was later discovered that he really was crazy from contracting an STD. If the reports of Kim Jong keeping concubines is true...

Japan has taken a bold step and banned all imports from NK and banned NK ships from their ports. NK, meanwhile, said today that any sanctions would be viewed by them as an act of war. Kim Jong Mentally Ill also basically said that if America does not spontaneously combust immediately that, too, will be considered an act of war.
Iranian scientists were on hand to view the recent missle tests and will be first in line to purchase nuclear know-how from them. Iran is watching how the world reacts to NK.

Blix no longer works as a UN weapons inspector. He now chairs Sweden's (ha) Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission. This site has some interesting information on the "Peerless Leader." news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/783967.stm

ok... joking aside.
kim jong il (imo) is a very dangerous person and a strong threat to the US. unfortionately, it's a "no win" sitch. IF we go to war with NK without him attacking us, we're being "world police". (look at iraq) IF we wait, i have little doubt he WILL attack us. if that happens,,, we'll here "why didn't the govt stop him". (look at osama)
so... yall tell me the answer. i HIGHLY doubt any type of "diplomacy" will work with this guy. on the other hand, we don't need another war (specially right now).

1) Might as well waste diplomacy on a hill of fireants as on NK.
2) Putting our hopes in the UN is like waiting for the ACLU to protect religion.
The world learned absolutely nothing from Hitler. President Bush is our commander in chief and it is up to him to protect this country from this threat. Fear of polls or lost elections is not a valid excuse for failing to stop this madness before it becomes nuclear madness. If Bush sits on his thumbs and allows the UN to handle this our future nuclear nightmare will be on his head.
After 9/11 Bush correctly defined the "Axis of Evil" (except that he left out China) and declared war on terrorism. But his war on terrorism has taken a back seat to political sensitivity. Right this minute he is planning to give military and economical aid to the Palestinians. He does nothing while Iran finances insurgents in Iraq who are killing our men and women. Likewise with Syria. He has added to the sell-out of our economic future to China. He has done nothing to decrease our dependance on foreign oil. And he has absolutely refused to protect our borders. In fact, he is actively helping illegals subvert our laws with orders to border patrol personnell to stand down. Again he is proposing amnesty to 12 million illegals already in our country.
And the really sad thing about this is that, in the face of all that Bush is doing wrong, he and the republican party are our only real hope right now. The democrats are far, far worse.
I fear this country is headed for a violent struggle between left and right.

We know that this is true, it is all over the media. But lets discuss why you make this statement? Why do we the people think this is happening?

Well, rutrow, if you give Bush the benefit of the doubt, it could be argued that he is so focused on the war on terror that he just doesn't have time to deal with illegal immigration or NAFTA. But that benefit of doubt can't cover for Bush's steadfast support for illegal immigration. He doesn't just look the other way and allow it - he condones it and actively aids it. But so do the democrats. Most likely both parties are dreaming of a huge block of voters that would make the Jesse Jackson following or the blind voting of labor union members pale in comparision. I don't know why he does it.
But I digress. Your question was why I made the statement and why people think it is happening. To that, my only answer is because it IS happening.

We are not given any reasons why illegal immigrations are allowed but the leaders of this country always have reasons about whatever things they do and laws they pass. Do a google search on North American Union. Could this possibly be a reason?

I have followed the North American Union and it is disgusting. It is also true. It is really scary to think what we will do once our manufacturing base has been sent to China and we find ourselves in a war with China. The only thing that saved our butts in WWII was our ability to adapt our production lines to produce tanks and weapons and uniforms and parachutes, etc. We are rapidly losing that resource.

I also hear that there is a new constitution on the horizon, maybe next year. Don't know if that is true or not but we shall find out. They will lie about it till it becomes known. They do not think the people should have any say on this N. A. union and prolly won't ask us about a new constitution. Congress didn't vote for the union thingy. ONe day we will all wake up and find ourselves being North American Union citizens. Look up bill HR 6166 when u get a chance from the Library of Congress.
