An international grouping of lawyers has filed a lawsuit calling on German prosecutors to investigate outgoing US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for allegedly sanctioning torture.
Yep, they intend to haul Rumsfeld before a foreign court and prosecute him. Yesterday I read that Pelosi and her gang of liberal socialists will support the move. Bush's prosecution will start as soon as he leaves office.
This is a direct attack on US Sovereignty and if it is allowed to stand none of us will be safe from the liberal terrorists who are intent on taking over this country and removing our freedoms. If you recall, the democrats kicked and screamed when Bush refused to sign US Sovereignty over to an international court a few years ago. Democrats WANT the United States to be ruled by the UN.
Our freedom is at stake now more than ever in our history. Did YOU vote to put these terrorists in power?

During the recent election cycle history was made twice: The state of MN elected the nation's first Muslim congressman to the House and the state of Vermont elected the nation's first openly self-professed socialist to the US Senate. The socialist made no secret that he was a socialist and he won by a landslide.

I think the agenda is pretty obvious, rutrow - the destruction of America as we know it. Two days ago the San Fransisco board of education voted to ban ROTC training in public high schools throughout the city, citing two reasons: 1) Schools should teach peace not war. 2) In a healthy democracy the military should be contained.
Right now the democratic party is split between left-wing extremists and left-of-center moderates. But the extreme left is about to be in control of ALL of the House committees with Pelosi, Murtha, Thompson, Rangle, and their ilk. Some democrats have stated on the record that this congress, as far as the House is concerned, will be one of strict adherence to Pelosi's orders or else. The funny thing (not funny ha ha) is that the only way the democrats seized power was by running conservative candidates. The republicans primarily lost seats to conservative democrats (or those pretending to be so). Yet the liberal wing is in control.

They better relish it while they can, I'm confident they won't be in control in 2010. In fact, I predict their power will be much reduced after the 08 election. I predict a strong, moderate prez will take the prize and put the whammy on the libs.

I hope you're right, TF, but you have to consider that historically it takes 12 years for an outted party to regain power in Congress. More importantly, though, is that the media is heavily tilted left. A recent poll showed that 51% of Americans had never heard of Nancy Pelosi. Many people think the "Daily Show" with Jon Stewart is an actual news broadcast instead of a comedy spoof of the news. In fact, another poll showed that a high percentage of Americans rated the show higher than Fox News as a news source. And these people vote.
Americans are bombarded every day, through newspapers, network news, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, music, movies, etc., with liberal idealogy. Unless they listen to Fox News or talk radio or seek out conservative websites they have nothing to balance that liberal onslaught.
Couple all this with the fact that democrats are protected by the media and republicans are vilified by that same media and you have a voting block for democrats.
To me the democrats are in a win-win situation right now. If things go downhill over the next two years they can simply say that Bush blocked their efforts to make things better. If things go great over the next two years they will claim full credit. Either way the media will paint them in the best light and republicans in the worst light.

This was a "throw the bums out" election. Most Americans were fed up with all of the scandals, the direction of the war, the pure arrogance of our leaders, and most of all the overt way our leaders helped their campaign contributors.
As for the theory that the Dems were conservative -- what about the fact that the GOP runs on less government and less spending? How's that working out?
I, too, voted against every incumbent. I have no idea of some of the people I voted for. Dangerous? Probably. I just felt like anyone could do a better job than our current bunch.

I don't agree that this was a "throw the bums out" election because, unless I missed one, not a single democrat incumbent lost during this cycle. I think this was a "throw the republicans out" election and they did it by the handful. But why? Well, you cited a perfect example: Republicans promise less government but give us more. They promise to protect this country yet leave our borders open to anyone with feet. They promise to restore dignity to D.C. yet they gave us Folley and Abramoff. So I don't blame people for being mad and sending a message but what did it get us? It got us Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, a muslim congressman and a self-professed socialist. Democrats will give us much more government. Hillary has already vowed to resurrect her socialist healthcare plan. Democrats all over the place are calling for tax increases and more entitlement programs. Democrats are not less corrupt than republicans. Corruption in politics is bipartisan. Harry Reid is under investigation for some possibly illegal and certainly unethical land transactions. He was also named by Jack Abramoff (and the dems have already declared an accusation by Abramoff as the gospel) as one of the senators who took illegal money under the table from him. Jack Murtha is, according to a non-partisan political watchdog group, one of the top 20 most corrupt politicians in Washington and a clear example of a corrupt politican. Murtha is well known for selling his votes in exchange for pork. Democrats will not protect this country. They want to cut funds to our soldiers in Iraq and bring them home immediately. They don't think terrorism is a military matter but, instead, a legal matter. They want terrorists to be tried in a court of law with the benefit of lawyers and all the technical loopholes available to US citizens. And they want to join the dominion of the International Criminal Court set up by Europeans to prosecute anyone in the world for anything the court deems illegal. The court, according to its charter, is a self-governing body with powers limited only by its own imagination. If you recall, the democrats were screaming foul a few years ago when Bush refused to sign the agreement and turn over our sovereignty to the UN. So what did this anti-republican temper tantrum get us? If the old expression "cut of your nose to spite your face" has ever applied to a situation, it applies to this one. All those votes for "conservative" democrats actually put the liberal extremists democrat faction into power. I don't consider myself a republican. I am a conservative independant who recognizes that the liberal agenda of the democrats is so against what I believe in that I will not vote for a democrat at any level because doing so only strengthens the party as a whole. Anyone who ever thought (I used to) that party doesn't matter in local politics should remember the 2000 election in Florida where local democrats did everything in their power to manufacture votes for Al Gore.

I only hope that all elected officials get the hint that the American people will hold them accountable for their actions. If the Dems decide to socialize this country, then I expect a new crop of GOP to come along begging for forgiveness. I want the GOP that believes like Reagan, "Big government doesn't solve problems -- big government is the problem." Now, that is the type of candidate that will get my vote.
I think the Dems are playing a pretty smart hand (for now). Defeating Pelosi's recommendation by a wide margin is a good sign that they are not going to let a few left-wing liberal nut-jobs tell them what they will do. Will they keep it up? Their future depends on it.

www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53124Are you ready for the "Amero"? Here's a snippet of the story at the above link: In an interview with CNBC, a vice president for a prominent London investment firm yesterday urged a move away from the dollar to the "amero," a coming North American currency, he said, that "will have a big impact on everybody's life, in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico." Steve Previs, a vice president at Jefferies International Ltd., explained the Amero "is the proposed new currency for the North American Community which is being developed right now between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico." The aim, he said, according to a transcript provided by CNBC to WND, is to make a "borderless community, much like the European Union, with the U.S. dollar, the Canadian dollar and the Mexican peso being replaced by the amero." Previs told the television audience many Canadians are "upset" about the amero. Most Americans outside of Texas largely are unaware of the amero or the plans to integrate North America, Previs observed, claiming many are just "putting their head in the sand" over the plans.
