Anyone catch the green flag mishap during the Charlotte race this weekend? NASCAR threw the green flag with two safety vehicles still on the track cleaning up after a wreck. The caution was immediately thrown but it took a large part of the lap for the cars to get slowed back down.
Obviously accidents and screwups happen but I thought the way NASCAR handled the incident was very unprofessional: They simply wiped the green flag restart from the record. It never happened. We imagined it. The NBC commentators made it pretty clear they didn't agree with it but had to doctor their caution count to ignore the one thrown after the restart.
Why could NASCAR not just admit the obvious? It made a mistake. Pretending they didn't only makes them look silly.

Nascar does not make mistakes. They are absolutely right in every call they make. Never question their authority. Didn't you get the memo??? BTW, I'm being facetious.
