I have received the blessing from MsMagnolia to go play paintball again. She really didn't mind from the beginning, but I didn't want her to feel slighted.
I am an inactive team member of the Red Rovers out of Aberdeen. They play recball and scenario games where they are in the woods and have some sort of goal, sometimes using military styled tactics. What you might have seen on ESPN is known as airball or speedball. It's more of a competitive sport and is more aggressive.
I have a couple of decent guns, if you've wanted to try it, we can get with my team and have some fun in Aberdeen.

Well, for the sake of the board: I love to play. I've played with Wittzo and the guys at Aberdeen, and with some guys up at Saltillo, and ....there's gotta be more...anyway. They're all good folkes. Lots of fun. Even got my girlfriend playing now.
Come on, I wanna play more!

I have a paintball gun but I'm afraid my disability has gotten so bad here lately that I wouldn't be much good wandering through woods and whatnot unless I was a base guard or something like that. Also I think my gun is in disrepair and needs a tune-up (It's not been used in several years). My CO2 tanks should be okay though.
For those of you that don't know (which is likely all of you) I have a genetic disorder in which I slowly paralyze from the waist down.... or rather the transmitters in my brain that control my legs degrade. It's called Hereditary Spastic Parapalegia.

I hate to hear that crimson, my prayers are with you. I have never heard of hereditary spastic paraplegia, but I am gonna do some research on it. Is there anything that can be done to halt the process? At what stage is it at now?

Nope. There's nothing that can be done except treat the cramps and fatigue. It's a genetic problem so there's not really anything you can do. Right now (at the age of 27) I'm more or less clumsy. I trip a lot because the signal from brain to legs gets lost sometimes. I can't really run... I can try but it's more like a speed walk. I get cramps occasionally for no specific reason other than the nuerons fire when they shouldn't. Sucks when it happens in the middle of the night.

What kind of paintball gun do you have? I have a CO2 tank at home.
I've seen guys in wheelchairs shoot paintball, you can still sling paint no matter what.

I have a Raptor. It's on the cheap end of the spectrum but it's good. My CO2 tanks are all fine. It's my gun that needs an overhaul. Mainly just seals I think. I won't know until I get it apart and inspect it.
I'm not in a wheelchair... yet. And I can play, no problem. I'm just not so good at running through the woods anymore and my skills would be better used as a base guard or short range. Trust me, you don't want me running in to try and steal someone's flag. =)
