On the same day a plane crashed in KY, sending 49 people to their fiery deaths at the end of a runway (the wrong runway), and immediately after the local Lexington, KY NBC affiliate switched from local coverage of the disaster back to the live Emmy Awards program, Conan O'Brian did a skit where he was in a plane crash (mocking ABC's LOST series). Now he and NBC are taking flak for airing the skit.
Now let me say that I have trouble deciding which is more stupid - Connan O'Brian or the ABC LOST series - but I fail to see the basis for this latest round of outrage. Yes, the show was live but should anyone really expect NBC to be able to write a new skit and substitute it at the last minute just because a plane crashed in KY?
The plane crash was tragic but Connan and NBC weren't making light of THAT crash.

I like the Lost series. IF they would quit showing reruns. Conor, I don't watch, but you are right NBC shouldn't be expected to do another skit on short notice.

I do not like Conan because he is tasteless in most of his jokes.

I don't like him because he is one of the most unfunny comedians I've ever seen. How he and David Letterman have managed to make a living being "funny" is past me.
