www.theshadowlands.net/places/mississippi.htmCheck out the listings for Tupelo. There's supposedly a ghost that haunts the consession stand, employee's lounge, and the arcade. There are ghosts that haunt the theaters, and a ghost that haunts the projection room and upstairs. I never heard of it, the last weird happening I heard about was the nest of water mocassins at the new Malco.

Wittzo, if you remember, I worked at Alladin's Castle for a long time right after the mall first opened. Since our backdoor opened right into the common area for the theater, I made frineds with some of the hte theater staff...you know, I give you free games at the Arcade, you give me free passes to the movies, anyway, apparently one of the girls that worked their died in a horrible car accident. The website says Lola but I don't believe that was her name. One particular night some of the employees were outside talking and smoking and I heard them talking about the ghost of the girl that died.
They said she has scared some patrons before, and one of the employees said she saw it in one of the theaters. No movie was playing, but she was sitting in a seat facing the screen. The employee said she clearly saw the back of a woman's head, and she got scared went out into the hall, went back in and she was gone.
Another employee said he heard something above him in the projection booth and several reels of film were knocked around. Noone was in the room at the time.
I think they all needed some sleep, but that's just me.

I heard people talk about weird stuff happening at the Malco, but never heard them say ghost. I do know about the house in Corinth. There's another house there that people said was haunted. There was about 5 families move in and out in about 7 years. They all said they couldn't stand the noises. mercyme!

My buddy Chris did some investigating at various sites. One of the more recent ones was at Guntown. A lot of weird stuff happened there.
One of my friends was from Pontotoc. Her mother moved into a house that had some strange stuff going on. Lights would turn off and on. My friend's room was haunted, she had to sleep on the couch. Her fiancee didn't believe it so she dared him to sleep there one night while she was on the couch. Right after midnight, he ran out of the room and woke her up to tell her that he was going home. He was white and sweating, he wouldn't tell her what happened, he didn't want to talk about it. She said that she saw strange things in there, but they didn't do anything to her except touch her and shake the bed. I guess they weren't as friendly to him.
My wife used to see a man dressed in black in her house in Amory, he was harmless until he started turning the gas on in the stove. She had to check it whenever she went to work and came home. She also saw a freaky looking woman in white all the time, too. She was scared of her.

My cousin lived in a little house way out in the boonies in NE Alabama and we spent the night with him once and I was awakened by a crash like someone had knocked over a stack of dishes. When I awakened, I could still hear the crash echoing through the house but no one else stirred a bit; not even a change in breathing patterns. My cousin said that other people had been awakened by crashing sounds in that house but that it had never happened to him or his wife.
Later, his son and his girlfriend were "ran out" of the house by things moving, tipping over, etc. I felt a distinct presence when I was there but didn't feel threatened by it. Of course at the time I was deeply involved in the occult so I believed in ghosts and just assumed that's what it was.

Does it show up as horrible climate control and excessively salted popcorn? That is the only experience I have at the Cinemark. I am usually disappointed when they get a movie I want to see. Have to make the run to Starkville or Columbus instead.
I love the idea of ghosts haunting houses and such. I have been to several so called haunts, similiar to those mentioned, only to be very disappointed when nothing happened. Yet to have an "experience". Like a mustard buzzard from Hattiesburg might say, I say to ghosts, "Anytime, Anywhere". I would certainly like to see one of these things or experience it.
Just noticed the linked site, Columbus was my high school stomping grounds and I have been to most of those sites and seen nothing. We went by the so called 3-legged lady and stopped and got out of the car and found it to be a stump or pole in the ground with a garbage bag or two tied around it. Still kind of freaky at night but hardly a ghost. Scary, a little. Try the slave cemetary behind Caledonia for just scary. One of the graves sunk and a tree grew up into the grave and died so there is a huge spear like tree sticking up in the bottom of the grave, which is real easy to fall into at night. Still not haunted.
