Where did all this "they only harrass kids in black clothes" come from? From what I have seen of Mall security, they are equal opportunity harrassers. I know some of those guys personally, and they HATE Friday and Saturday nights. Especially Saturday night when it's mostly black teenagers hanging around. Why? Because they ar constantly kicking people out and breaking up groups hanging around.

Friday nights are not quite as bad, apparently the white kids behave only marginally better. What is with this black night/white night thing going on at the Mall? What is driving this racial divide that even teenagers hang out on special nights at the mall?

I am aghast that even the mall perpetrates this obvious racist practice by demanding reserve officers to be onsite on Saturday nights? Again, I ask, is the NAACP aware of this? ;D

The "security" is there to protect the businesses and their paying customers. If you're not a paying customer, beat feet. I don't care if you're a Blood, a Cripp, or a Britney wanna-be, move along, disperse. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here...

I don't care if your black, white, green, purple, yellow... it doesn't matter. If you're being rude you're being rude. When someone says 'excuse me' you should have the decency to step out of the way without feeling like you've been the one put out.

I don't really care what color clothing you wear, what gang you're in or how much money your parents have either. If you're in the mall and you're being a brat then, yes, the security should show you the door.

As I stated earlier I'm handicapped. (Hereditary Spastic Parapalegia for anyone who would care to know what's wrong with me). As a result I walk slowly and with a limp. Not once, not twice, but three times I had teenagers behind me complaining that I was going too slow. That's rude. I lost count of how many times I had to say 'excuse me' and got dirty looks and guffaws from teenagers who felt that I was the one causing them inconvinience. And lets not forget the teenagers who thought it necessary to yell across the commons instead of walking over to their friends.

So basically, yes, I approve of what security was doing. If you were causing problems then you needed to go.

And Wittzo, I agree, this whole 'counter culture' thing has become part of our culture. I've always asked 'Why do all goths express their individuality the same?'. I guess the same can apply here. Some people want to be unique and draw attention to themselves but they do it just like everyone else that wants to be unique.

I actually think that Goths are kind of cool because they are well read. They might not read the same books I read, but they seem to be more intelligent and they usually have a good knowledge of Nietsche. They just need to work on their hygiene and makeup some... ;D

The coolest thing is that I actually have a fan club made up of some Gothic kids. I don't know why, but they seek me out at the store. One day I hope to meet them in real life outside of work.

Now back in my day, I can't say that a certain someone didn't act quite the hooligan at the mall...maybe that's why they closed the windows at Ruby Tuesdays for a while? ;D I was just too jealous of the guys who could wear black trenchcoats and get away with it without being posers....It was all about the black tee shirts.

We had our own gang, The Vital Sassoons. We worked out with weights. We didn't drink "forties" on the weekends, we rolled 20's.(Critical hit with a Vorpal weapon! Awesome!) We were nerds. Other kids feared us because they thought we would one day be their bosses.
