This thread is here for you to Vent and/or rant about anything that is currently pissing you off, making you mad, or whatever. I'll start...ahem...  The local News Media Websites need to get caught up with the 21st Century! I'm talking about DJournal.com, WCBI.com, and WTVA.com I have been trying for a SOLID MONTH to make RSS feeds work for each of these sites to capture the latest headlines and display it in our forum toolbar. But each of these sites have absolutely crappy HTML coding, or they are using some arcane 1990 based content management system (probably Frontpage 98  ) to update the news on their pages. It's 2006, make your damn web pages WW3 compliant for goodness sakes. How in the hell do they plan on syndicating their content like the rest of the REPUTABLE news websites in the world? Links back to your content would be great if your webmaster would get caught up with the rest of the world. I challenge any of the sites listed to syndicate their own content via RSS. Since you have decided not to follow ANY set standard for coding your pages, could you at least find someone competent enough within your respective organizations to RSS syndicate your content. I'm sure there are others out there who would like to get YOUR news headlines on their webpages/blogs/FORUMS! It brings more people to YOUR website and gives content to other sites in return. today's rant... why do some people hang toilet paper "under"? seriously, it's OVER people! if i go to someone's house and see TP hanging "under", i immediately change it to "over".
it should be a law. TP is to be hung OVER!

Agree 100%, zipzam. Toilet paper should go OVER the frigging roll.
Now my rant: Why does it take so long for traffic to start flowing once a traffic light turns green. If you are five or more cars back you usually don't even get to move until the light turns yellow again. I have studied this and it seems to me that the drivers are watching the car if front of them and only react when they see that car move. So the delay accumulates until the poor sap (usually me) sitting back in line has to wait for the next light. Why don't people watch the light THEN watch the car in front of them?

And just who's idea was it to put a 4 cylinder engine in a PT Cruiser. Those cars need at least a 6. Chrysler missed the boat on that one. Make a cool little crossover car and then WIMP on the engine.

Make a cool little crossover car and then WIMP on the engine. TF uh oh... don't let me catch you griping about gas prices TF. another soapbox of mine... people (especially single people with no kids) driving needless SUVs and beyotch about gas prices. |

That is my husband too. cussing and making hand gestures. Trying to make people get out of his way and to tell them to go on. And if they are from another state, he hollars for them to go back to where they come from.

LOL I was traveling home today and had to stop at a convenience store in Meridian to take care of a ahem...serious problem I was about to experience. I get into the men's room and there's one freakin stall...occupied. I come out, and notice one of those unisex/diaper change/handicap restrooms, and a woman with a baby beat me to the door. Now, I had to go....really bad. A couple of minutes later, the guy comes out of the men's room, I go in and GROSS! Dude did not flush! I remedied that quickly,and was about to sit down when I noticed ALL THE TP WAS GONE! I was LIVID, but on the brink of a complete environmental disaster at the same time. I went to the unisex bathroom and the lady with the baby still occupied it. I got to thinking about Hurricane Katrina and the lack of response from FEMA. Would the same happen in Meridian in the next two minutes? Should I tell the clerk to notify them immediately? So, FINALLY the lady comes out, baby in hand. And guess what? She did not flush either? What the hell is wrong with people? I spotted the giant size TP roll. You know, one of those they have to use a crane to lift and put into the dispenser, but it had maybe 5 sheets left on it. I cried out in extreme agony "Why God? Why?" I had no choice but to make do (no pun intended). I noticed one of those automatic paper towel dispensers just in reach. I am convinced God answered my cry by providing that machine. It literally saved the entire town of Meridian from unspeakable horror and devastation. TF |
