This is stupid. Just stupid. TF You know TF, it makes no sense at all to us little folks, but the ones in charge DO have a reason and they are going to have their way. They just are not going to reveal their [real] reason on this smoking ban. Not too many people believe it is for our "good".

might as well get used to it though. i'm pretty sure more of the bigger towns in the state will pass smoking bans and then it will become state wide and then nation wide.

if ms deas wants to be a strong and effective councilperson, why not take on a serious issue like feeding homeless folks or getting medicine for the elderly at no cost? the answer is that it is much easier to get a little p***ant ordinance passed that suits the few and is detremental to the businesses that they (the elite, you know...) don't like anyway. it will be interesting to see how the furniture market handles all this. but it will be okay because they will ammend it for those folks..... this is the silliest crap imaginable but I am not surprised - after all, they were elected by the people who live in tupelo and we must be stupid and in need of direction from deas and the stooges.....

I agree motorcop. But if they amend the ordinance for the furniture market, then it will be obvious that they only want to control the people and serve their almighty dollar.

I've wondered about the furniture market myself. From what I've heard (and this is only hearsay) the officials in Tupelo put their hands over their eyes for all sorts of "conveniences" made available to the fatcats from out of town. And if they make the exception for them it will be absolute proof that the council knows full well their silly little ordinance is detrimental to business.
