Reaper says, "As for the Gas, its plan EXPENSIVE whoever you get it from. I still remember just a few years ago when it was $1.09. HECK when I was in College it was always around $.90 cents." Oh my lord, I remember when gas was less than $.30 ... It wasn't much more than that when I was in college. No wonder we all had a V-8. Drive all night on a couple of dollars. During this same time period: Bottle Coke: .10 Pack of Marlboro: .35 Loaf of Wonder Bread: .17 Concert ticket: floor 5.00; risers 4.25; nosebleed 3.75 New Ford or Chevy: 2500. Those were the days...

Oh my lord, I remember when gas was less than $.30 ... You young whippersnappers.....I remember when they used to hand deliver 5 gallons of gasoline FOR FREE to everyone's home...it would last two weeks. They would give it away like candy. On second thought....I think that was a dream, that never happened. TWD

I wish I could remember gas being that low. But since I have bought gas it was always about .90 to 1.38. And I thought the 1.38 was outrageous!

We still rode our bikes when gas was .49 a gallon. Wonder what they'd do if we quit buying it and started riding bikes again? All these short trips we make uses more gas and they are the ones to benefit the most. mercyme!

If the states would cut the taxes on gas. the prices could and would come down, also the government needs to step in and tell the big three oil cartels to quit price groging the Amenican Public, But we know that is not going to happen since they contribute alot of money to both major parties. And since the american peoples love of the automobileand to start combining shopping trips to once a week instead of running to town for every little thing and to carpool if possible will also help cut the consumion and also let the big three know that either cut your prices or suffer

Well, it looks like the Wittmobile is kaput. It died on me for the last time...I'm going to trade that puppy in for a Suburban or whatever they call it now that has a diesel engine so I can make my own fuel!

OPEC will forever rule as long as 'loyalists' are sent to buy up every gas station they can get their hands on. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be a sorry SOB, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there is an infiltration of the American Infrastructure by some who's intent is to see that no change can be made that'd affect foreign profits for the benefit of the American people.
Let the flaming on me begin.

The owners of the gas stations might be Pakistanis, Indians, or Arabic, but the gas comes from Dutch and British concerns. Doesn't BP own a mojority of stores and chains in the US?

The Brits own more real estate and businesses here than any other foreign power, it's always been that way for some reason. Heck, even Smith and Wesson was owned by the Brits until some enterprising Americans beat the Germans to it!
I don't know what the political reasons were, but as soon as Rudoph Diesel died, they changed the design of the diesel engine to run on petroleum based diesel instead of vegetable oils. Imagine, instead of oil fields, we would have bean fields instead...
It is amazing that oil was first discovered in Saudi Arabia in the '50's and they were able to leverage control in just a couple of decades..
